Last I knew fast food and places like that (doubt 7-11) are allowed to hire no younger then 14 in Michigan. The hours your allowed to work are very low, like 3 hours a day, before 7 pm, and no more then a certain amount of hours for school and work total (I know over 16 leaves 18 hours with 7 hours of school 5 days a week). Minimum wage is low, around $6 something as well. Best bet is to work for yourself doing lawn care, or post a resume on something like craigslist saying what your looking for. Be sure in include age. Another option is to check with the school. They are often told of farms (if there are actually any in Novi), tutoring, babysitting, things like that.

The worker's permit mentioned below is needed for anyone under 18, and gets filled out for each new job. Before you can work, you get one from the school when you've been hired somewhere, take it to your new place of employment, they fill out half of it, then you take it to the school, they sign it then a parent sign it then it stays with the company, but maybe the school, I'm not sure.

i don’t know i don’t live there but you can get a working permit (i think that’s what they are called)

or just ask around like you said go into mcdonald’s and ask the manager about hiring you. all you have to do is ask.

other than that that’s all i can think of
