Like Mcain said we couldnt.
why not enact Tariffs on goods coming into the US, the way our goods face tariffs upon entering other countries?

Because now, more Forgien Companys are Buying out the Manufacturing Companys in the United States and Michigan and running them the way they want them. I know, Mine was bought out by a Country in Sweden in 2006 and we were shut down here in Michigan, November 2007!!

Republican business owner of Amway, Dick Devos, is running for Governor of Michigan. His TV ads proclaim that he cares about the state's unemployed when his own company has outsourced thousands of jobs overseas and out of Michigan. Talk about hypocrisy. Are the people of Michigan that stupid to believe him?

He is getting the job done! Did you ever stop to think that people are leaving because of Canadian Jen? She is not doing a good job. Eveything around her must cater to the pit of Michigan Detroit! There is pleanty of more Michigan rather than Detroit! DeVos will be able to meet most of our needs and turn this state around to get back on its feet.

I'd check out the job market in the area you're thinking about first. I think everywhere has a tough market right now because of the economy. Companies, even major ones, are laying off. So even if there are some jobs, the competition is fierce everywhere. I've been looking for months now, applied to even lower paying jobs and I can't get anything. You might move and find the same situation. I'd look online for jobs in the south, apply, even fly out for an interview, and then if you get the job, then you can move.

I just moved here from Seattle to find work. Any pointers?

Report released right after the first of the year showed Michigan tied one other state as having the most people move out of the state for lack of jobs.

The state with the highest increase is South Carolina ..

I guess if you want a job, move to South Carolina. Michigan is in a world of hurt and with the Gov. getting elected again, it most likely wont change anytime soon.

I am a college grad with a Business Degree and have sales experience. I am open and willing to try almost anything as long as I get a decent wage. Thanks for your input.

Hi there,

Its really tough finding a job in Michigan, I've been struggling my self, I live south west of Michigan around but I am relocating to the Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo area and I've been looking for a job for the past 4 months and still nothing. I am a college student with so much experience but still nothing. You have a college degree so you should have better luck than me. Have you put your resume on websites, such as careerbuilder.com monster.com or michiganworks.com, they always have a lot of jobs on there, and I always see that they are looking for sales positions and some of them want Bachelors degrees in business. They are also so many banks around here looking for people. The best thing for you to do is too look around online, build resumes on websites, send resumes companies. I don't know what part of west Michigan you reside in, but National City bank is always hiring they have many jobs available. I worked for them but it did not work out because I lived too far and the commute was terrible. I wish you the best of luck luck!!

Uniersity of Michigan is one of the best academic schools in the nation. They have great science and engineering programs which should help us expand technology businesses. The auto manufacturing plants are still reducing, and we have the highest unemployment in the nation. Is high tech the answe?

As long as the "big three" still bet on building SUV's with technolgy from the 1950's, there is no answer. No car should make less then 35mpg today and look like a truck.

the crime is concidered violent and I dont even know if all of the jobs are looking up my record or not how do I know?

I also need advice on how to search for jobs that dont ask about misdemeanors..

I am also wondering if there is housing in michigan that goes off your income? If so how do I find them

All (Most) jobs ask about prior criminal records. Most also do a background check.

You'll know if they ask you to sign a waiver to check your background information.

I have a misdemeanor myself (DUI). I didn't have a problem finding work. Just be honest. When filling applications, follow the instructions. If they want to know your background, state what you had. Nothing more. If they want an explanation, you can follow-up on their questions.

The worst thing you can do is lie. They'll find that out and you have no shot.

For housing, call up your local housing authority, they'll have a list of income-rate housing locations.

Look at all the Toyota, Nissan, VW in TN, Honda, and Suburu plants that opened up nationwide, but not in Michigan. Yet, Michigan always votes democrat. They have the highest unemployment in the country. Why do you think this is? Hmm. unions control the state, and it’s taking the state down the tube.

yes, but they also helped create the middle class. they were good for awhile, but they have too much power now.
